Education For All Ages
Children's Ministry
Elder Glenda Nolt
"Train up a child in the way he should
go, and when he is old, he will not stray." Proverbs 22:6
Children's Ministry, also know as Christian Education, is the work of
instructing and guiding children in Christian faith and
life. This includes planning and overseeing
the educational programs and activities available to young people in our
church. This includes our nursery (open from 9:15 - 11:00am each Sunday)
and church school classes on Sunday. Children attend the first part of worship service with their
families, then are dismissed to their classes for Bible study and
activities. Currently three classes are held: Pre-K, ages 2-4; Primary, ages
5-8; and Middler, ages 9-12.
The children are also included in the
church's mission activities (i.e. Peacemaking Offering), as well as many
special projects and events during the year.
Confirmation classes are held once a year, and
all third grade students receive their own Bible. By focusing on God,
scripture, and fun, Sunday School at STHPC
is a treat for both the children and their families!
Youth Ministry
Elder Janet Keenan
Youth Ministry
hopes focus the youth on the role Jesus Christ plays in their lives. In
2003, the "God Squad" will be writing a group mission statement and looking
for more opportunities for community outreach. The youth will also
become more involved in the workings of the church and it’s place in the
community. All of these activities will help them focus on their roles as a
Christians in our world today. This year also holds plans to split
into separate Junior High and Senior High classes. God has a plan for our
youth. May this plan be shown to them through the teachings of
Jesus Christ.
Adult Ministry
Elder Karl Miller
It is the goal of the Adult Ministry to
build disciples and grow in our walk with the Lord. Adult Sunday
school is held at 8:30am (before worship), and runs for a series of 5-10
weeks at a time. Please contact the office for information on our
current series.
